Terms of Use for Connect

These terms are the rules for using Connect: the apps for Android and iPhone, Connect Web (web.c0nnect.me) and the Connect app for Windows. Connect is provided by AMI GLOBAL, Muscat, Sultanate of Oman ("we").

By creating an account or using Connect, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Connect.

No tolerance for abuse

There is no tolerance on Connect for objectionable content or abusive users. If you post content or behave in a way that breaks the rules below, we remove the content and ban your account, without warning.

1. Who can use Connect

You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age to use such services in your country if it is higher.
You must give a phone number you own and keep your account details true.
You are responsible for what happens on your account. Keep your phone and your sign-in codes to yourself.

2. What is not allowed

You must not use Connect to send, post or share anything, in a chat, a group, a status, a profile or a call, that:

harasses, bullies, threatens or intimidates anyone;
attacks people for their religion, race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, disability or similar, or encourages hatred or violence;
sexually exploits or endangers children in any way, including any sexual content involving a minor (we report it to the authorities);
is pornographic or sexually explicit and sent to people who did not ask for it, or is shared without the consent of the people shown;
promotes terrorism, serious violence, self-harm or suicide;
offers or arranges illegal goods or services, or is otherwise illegal where you or the recipient are;
is spam, a scam, fraud, phishing or a pyramid scheme;
pretends to be another person or organisation;
shares someone else's private information (such as their address, ID or photos) without their permission;
infringes someone else's copyright, trademark or other rights;
contains viruses or harmful code, or tries to break, overload, reverse-engineer or get unauthorised access to Connect or other people's accounts.

3. Reporting and blocking

You can block anyone: they can no longer message or call you.
You can report a message (long-press it, then Report), a person or a chat (the chat menu, then Report) or a status (the flag at the top).
When you report a message, its text as you see it is sent with the report, so we can review it even in an encrypted chat. The person is not told who reported them.
We review reports within 24 hours. When content breaks these terms, we remove it and ban the account that posted it.

4. Your content

What you send stays yours. You give us only the permission we need to store, deliver and back up your content so that Connect works. In end-to-end encrypted chats we cannot read your messages. You are responsible for what you send and must have the right to send it.

5. Moving chats from WhatsApp

Only move chats you took part in. The old messages become visible to everyone in the Connect chat you move them into.

6. AI features

The assistant, summaries, translation, suggested replies and voice-to-text are produced automatically and can be wrong. Do not rely on them for medical, legal, financial or safety decisions. Connect asks for your permission before they are used, and only the text or voice message you choose is sent (see the Privacy Policy).

7. Calls

Connect is not a phone service and cannot be used to call emergency services. Call quality depends on your internet connection.

8. The service

Connect is free. We work to keep it running and safe, but we provide it "as is", without guarantees that it will always be available or free of errors, and we may change, add or remove features. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses or for content other people send you.

9. Ending your use

You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Account → Delete account. We may suspend or ban an account that breaks these terms or puts other people at risk.

10. Apple's App Store

If you downloaded Connect from Apple's App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. Apple is not responsible for Connect or its content, and has no obligation to provide support for it.

11. Changes and law

If we change these terms, we update the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you in the app. These terms are governed by the laws of the Sultanate of Oman.
